Visions is a collection that was made for the 35th Annual Cornell Fashion Collective Show. This show allows students the opportunity to explore their own unique aesthetics without limitation.

This collection is based on the creation of a different world, rather than a single concept. Visions reimagines our world as a matriarchal society. Rooted in traditional western clothing, this collection draws from matriarchal societies and alternative hierarchical groups. These elements are combined to oppose the modern patriarchal society to create a new world.

Visions displays a variety of functional clothing for the female royalty of this “new world.” The collection was originally inspired by the strong female characters of Game of Thrones and their clothing, but has further developed the functionality. There are no petticoats, crinolines, or any other constricting undergarments. Despite this, the collection still achieves a measure of the volume associated with royalty through the use of gathers and pleats. The collection uses silhouettes that are traditionally feminine and dainty, but also very powerful and unafraid. The functionality, volume, and silhouettes create grandiose beauty.
